Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Green mucus means you are sick. Yellow mucus means you are sick. Red mucus means you are REAL sick. Black mucus... that's just f*cked up.

Actually, Dr. Pete is right. No one really cares about yellow vs. green.

White or clear is usually a cold, bronchitis and viral infections are usually yellow or green, bacterial infections are usully rust coloured, TB an pnemonia is usually pink and frothy. As well some medications that activate or cause symapthetic nervous system like activation, will cause pink sputum.

Of course sputum colour in isolation is not diagnostic, but combined with other factors it can be indicative.

That's exactly my point. Since they may point to the same thing, how is it valuable? Knowing if snot is yellow vs. green won't change my diagnosis. Hence, not caring about yellow vs. green... which I think is what Dr. Pete was trying to say.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up.
