Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speaking of Lemond Frames

There's been a good bit of talk about Lemond frames recently on the board so I thought I'd toss this out for discussion.

Take a look at this frame on Ebay:

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3604973477

Is it just me or is that the wrong thing to do? (regarding the paint job)

Zack

OK as long as it's disclosed.

Bikes: Gunnar Roadie

I think it is ok as well. He fully describes why it is that color and that it is not what it appears to be. He's not trying to hide anything of make someone think it is something that it isn't, he probably just liked this color better at the time.

Doesnt look to bad.I found it strange since i have been looking at LeMonds that they have different paint jobs on the same bike just because its a double or tripple.

The paint job looks good.. but that guy could easily tell people it's a mailllot jaune, and get a couple hundy more for it, and odds are.. the buyer would never know the difference... but I guess as long as he discloses it.. then it is all good...

My Maillot Jaune frame that I bought on ebay should be arriving today.. I checked with Fedex's website, and it is on a truck waiting to be delievered :-)

Now I have to save the extra cash and hand my bike over to Shimano for them to build it up :-)
