How big of a bada$$ to ride a pink bike???

Still thinking about color options for the Moots build. I saw this MTN bike, and the wheels started turning. What are the thoughts with a sweet Ti and pink combo. White bartape, and white Toupe saddle?
But the real question... How bad do you have to be to ride it??

Here is the Moots mtn bike

Would use pink Chris King headset and hubs on a Vamoots

there's some high end candian mtn bike brand that has a model that comes/came in pink. a friend of mine has one.

Theres nothing wrong with pink dude. Its espicially a good color for racing.

If you're jan ullrich

DrPete 12-22-06 07:54 AM

Seriously, it's a color. if you like it, go for it. The fact that you would ride a bike with pink parts is proof enough that you're sufficiently secure in your masculinity to do it.

Do what you like.

Take a look at this thread on RBR, http://forums.roadbikereview.com/showthread.php?t=26434. I think terry_b also posts here too.

anodized parts = fugly

My bro had a hot pink GT Freestyle when we were kids. I had a light blue Mongoose (it was the late eighties). Anyhow his bike got all the compliments, and nobody questioned his sexuality. My bike got ripped off, I guess theives do not like pink.

terry b 12-22-06 10:59 AM

I went with the pink King headset and the matching pink Fizik tape and saddle. Changed out the tape and the saddle from the thread posted above. No one has tried to beat me up yet.

Haven't you been to Hot Topic recently? They sell all pink shirts that say "REAL MEN WEAR PINK" and "PINK IS THE NEW BLACK"

trackstar10 12-22-06 11:05 AM

if you are questioning yourself, youve alreadly lost.

The pink shirts that say, "This is your gf's shirt", crack me up.

+1 doc

Pink is euro cool. Some of the panels on my bike are pink, and to top it all off I just bought one of those new pink foil polar bottles to match it. :D

nobrainer440 12-22-06 03:19 PM

It needs to be the right shade of pink. A light pink with gray screams "girl" to me, but that T-mobile shade is sweet.

ravenmore 12-22-06 03:29 PM

Someone told me that pink wasn't considered a girls color at all until a hospital at some point started putting pink and blue caps on babies to differtiate between sexes? I don't know if its true or not. The same person mentioned pink was considered a manly color before then. Does anyone know why they chose the color pink for the Giro leader's jersey?
