From Snow to San Diego for Xmas riding
We've just had a week of snow here at home in Alaska, so we'll be ditching our studs and taking our road bikes for some winter riding fun in warmer climes. Does anyone have suggestions for some good riding routes. I grew up in San Diego, so I know the area somewhat but it's changed so much since I left (70's). Also, I hear the snow level is down in the mountains (so a trip to Alpine might be out).
Thanks for your help and have a Merry Christmas!

Drive to Borrego Springs. In December, it's the warmest and driest spot in California.

Wow! What a cool trip. I know most of these areas. Wish I had the time to do it, but I have to stick around with the rels! We can ride each day from near SDSU for several hours (up to 6) & return. I'm not worried about the weather too much. Anything above freezing is warm to us.
I'll probably head into the mountains one day, out to the beach area another, and spend the rest on the small roads along the foothills on the east side. If Palomar was clear, I'd ride that as well.
