Alright peoples.. your local proc' is still undecided. So given a budget of around 2 grand, something light and aero, what type of clinchers would you guys get? No tubies!
EDIT: Requirements, greater than 40mm preferred, under 1600 grams, CLINCHER.

" in.seriously, there's some decent deals at R and A, it's local, and they're authorized.
Not up to date with high end wheel deals, but there's some '05 Zipp 303s for 1000$ for sale.

You're talking carbon at this price right? Carbon clinchers are expensive, heavy and really don't provide much more than bling factor for all of the $. It seems to me that if you're going to go with carbon wheels, get tubulars, otherwise, you're better off with all Alu wheels... two pairs for the price of a set of carbon clinchers.
I know it's been said before, just thought I'd say it again

How light? How deep? Intended purpose? Throwing out such a general question is going to get you a whole lot of different answers. One thing is certain though, if you're going to be spending big money on high-end wheels, do yourself a favour and get tubulars.

Zipps have a horrible reputation for impact resistance. If you're gonna get them, they better be a damn good deal, leaving you with enough money for replacement rims.

So.. for general riding and some racing, around the NYC area (keep that in mind if you think I'll never see a puncture in my life), greater than 40mm deep, lighter than 1600 grams, aluminium (if it even exists).

OTOH, someone at reynolds has told me that their 46mm full carbon clincher can withstand higher tire pressures, is stronger, and stiffer than an aluminium equivalent.

A little over your budget but hey, you're worth it right? Right?
