Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I shave for 3 reasons (listed in order of importance)

1. Looks (so sue me)
2. Potential cleaning after an accident (it DOES help)
3. The ability to add 0.00001 mph and ride 0.0002 miles farther

Given that looks are my main thing (I can finally admit it), I just shave about 1-2" higher than the bottom of my shorts, so usualy mid-thigh.

Oh, and I shave my butt too.

This thread is hilarious. The Bodygroomer website is funny too. I haven't laughed this hard through a thread in a long time. Thanks for the entertainment.

Well, I did it. I used the Elite Ozone stuff, and after 10 minutes of leaving it on the legs it all wiped off. I went for the "wool speedo" over botto's "wool boxers" look.

The wife was a little apprehensive about it, but now that it's done she says she actually prefers it. And my legs totally look more buffed, which is what this is all really about anyway.

Maybe tomorrow morning I'll have something else to add to the "definition of a recovery ride" thread.

It might be more of a culture thing than an age thing even if there is a correlation. At the health club I go to, there are definitely guys in their 40's who require a shelf of products to preen themselves forever, a behavior characteristic I normally associate with women. Having said that, this behavior is rare by the time you get to retirement age.

I don't get all of these face piercings myself. Reminds me of the punks back in the 80's -- looks like maintaining the look would just be a PITA. Plus, it probably wouldn't go over too well with the wife. She was really ticked when I shaved my head even though I haven't been able to grow anything on top for a long time. I expect that she would mock me mercilessly if I shaved my legs, though maybe I should ask.....

Manscaping, what about womanscaping?

i don't find it odd, i just don't find the vertical mustasche, or the prepubescent look very sexy. i like it natural.

I was a Cat 5 and I still sucked pretty bad. I don't know what the ability threshold was exactly, but I feel like I finally got there.
