Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Finally, somebody who has a Time!!1!!

How do you compare the ride of the VXRS to the other bikes, particularly the Colnago?

My reading so far is that it's comparable in most ways, particluarly in stability on fast downhills, but I'd be very interested in your experience. What made you decide to get one, in the end?

Just added tires, bar and pedals last night (

I have not ridden this Time or Fulcrum yet, I will post a review once I put some good miles on them. And I will post my De Rosa's pics after completing this project.

By the way, I do have a Cannondale, it's a 2003 Jekyll 1000. I always stick with US made bikes when it comes to mtb,

Instead, how about something in the line of a mountain bike, a fixie, a cross bike, etc.....?

Very nice lineup btw...

1 question: does the red on the Time logo, Fulcrum wheels and ITM bars all match pretty closely? If they do, that would be SICK.

Ohhh! Look pedals??? The OCP brigade might have preferred Time pedals.

The bike is still gorgeous though!

Oh, now that is beyond sweet!!!

I was eyeballing Time frames when I got back into cycling. For some reason, I decided on other options. Not even sure why anymore, because they look so dang good with those red Fulcrum wheels.

Hi,

A man after my own heart! Very cool collection of Record equipped bikes.

Right now I'm down to one Record equipped Look since my other Look is up in San Jose for a warranty issue.

The Time VXR is on my short list for my 50th birthday bike (still vacillating on the 'S' seat tube). I've got a 2006 Record group sitting in my house wanting to be put on something nice. I am very interested to hear about how you like the ride compared to your other bikes. Do you race or do you just like high end bikes (either way is fine -- just wondering)?

Anyway, you can see some shots of my current stable on the link in my sig.

I am just gonna use black tape. it has too much red already.

Here are pictures of the completed bike

Frame: Time VXRS Ulteam,
Seatpost: Translink intergrated seatpost,
Stem: Time Monolink stem
Bar: ITM KSword
Groupo: 2007 Campy record, compact with 11-25 cassette
Wheelset: 2007 Fulcrum Racing zero
Tires: Tufo CS33 Special tubular clincher
Saddle: Fizik Arione
Pedal: Look Keo carbon
Bottle cages: Time
Bar tape: Deda
Computer: Polar CS100 with HRM

Weight: 14.3lbs

I just put nearly 100 miles on this bike, so far I like it better than my colnago President, but I need to ride it more to confirm that.
