Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes it does............may want to take a look at that. I believe around 2 mm or so is the suggested gap.

Cool! What is the difference to the FC-R700? Is it true, that only the 700 cranks are basing on hollow tech?

I have the R700 and asked that question some time back and was told the 600 is like the 105 as the 700 is like the Ultegra. Who knows......I just bought the 700 because it was there and what I needed.

well, its a couple or hours and one cup of hot chocolate later (i live in pittsburgh and it was 22 degrees out)...So as for the ride report...I did a similar local loop of 35 miles and i must say it was a lot easier this time with the new compact crank! My legs feel fresher and i feel like i could go back out again right now! I also own a garmin edge and since i did the exact same route i was able to compare my timing all throughout the course. It looks like on the flats and descents, i maintained my same average speeds but as for the climbing, i increased my average speed! I know times do change everyday but, i would think thats only by a matter of seconds or so...but, in total on each climb i averaged about 20-30 seconds better than i did on the previous ride (with the 53-39 crank). I think this is because i wasn't getting worn out during the climbs...I was able to spin more which in turn helped save my legs for the sprint over the top of the hill. So i know its only the first ride with it, but i love it already!!! By the way, i did 3900 ft of climbing in 35 miles...

i did move it down...it is shifting perfectly right now, so if it works i'm not touching it again!

thanks for the look out though!
