Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bianchi help

I have saved up for a Bianchi Brava (as a second road bike) and the store that has one won't ship it. Some of you may work at a LBS or know of a store that has a 58cm, 2005 or 2006, in stock that will ship it. If you know of one, please let me know.

Thanks.

Where are you located or where do you need the bike shipped to?

One of my LBS's has one, I'm not sure of it's size, but it's in that ugly bastard-stepchild of Celeste. It's like a puke-green compared to Celeste.

I'm located in the lower 48. Do you have a 58cm Brava?

I also found a shop in Houston that has one, but the price tag is steep at $799 (without shipping).

Lakeside Bikes in Lake Oswego, Oregon carries Bianchi and will ship...but I don't know that they discount much from full MSRP. (They'd do a bunch in terms of fitting and stuff if you were local, but they don't really hand out savings.) I think they have contact info @ www.lakeside-bikes.com. River City Bikes in Portland and Santiam Bikes in Salem both carry Bianchi as well.

And a lot of good "lower 48" does for us.

Thanks for the link. I called them up and they have what I want in stock, but wouldn't budge on the price.

Well here's a pic of the Bianchi. I've been riding steel framed RBs for many years and this one is as light as the aluminum rides. I'm wondering if the sloped geometry is what contributes to its lightness? I also like the adjustable stem, a nice touch. It's a terrific riding and handling bike and it shifts *very, very smoothly*, which is surprising, considering all the negatives I've heard about Sora components. Its even smoother than the 105's on my Trek. I have no complaints.
