Did I overpay for this bike I bought on ebay?
I sold my bike a while back and have been looking around for a high end bike local to me. I guess I got caught up in a bidding war and I put in a bid for more than I originally planned on. To be honest, I don't know much about the frame manufacturer.....Torelli. The bike feels lighter than my last bike, a Kestrel 200SCi.
Basically the ad description reads:
04 Torelli Scappa 57 cm. Hand Made In Italy. Columbus Aluminum w/Carbon Fiber Seat Stays. Dura Ace 9 speed.American Classic 420 race wheels. Easton Carbon Fiber, Bars, Forks, Seat Post, And Easton Magnesium Stem.Look Pedals and FIZIK Seat. Bike is in excellent condition.
Hopefully I didn't pay too much over market value. Originally my budget was $1000 max. The auction ended at $1225 and the seller was local so I didn't have to pay any shipping costs. I guess I just wanted a bike right away for this weekend. Bike rides great though.

Torelli's are nice bikes, and Dura Ace 9 speed isn't too shabby either. Provided it's never been crashed, I'd say you did well. I'm sure the frame will well outlast those wheels

Torelli is a decent frame, but not exactly a Colnago. When you start to compare it against a new Campy Record BD bike for $1495, its not exactly bargain basement.
If it really is in excellent condition you should get lots of enjoyment out of it, and 3 years from now it won't matter if you might have paid a couple hundred too much.

Well this thing is $1300.
So I guess you got a decent deal.

OP...don't play that game bro. Beautiful bike. You obviously wanted it and got it. You could have perhaps found a different bike for that price but not much more bike.
Ride it like you stole it.
Cheers,

This also has the advantage of preventing *you* from raising your max bid in the final momenets because you decide you can afford it. Because if you do win, you will have regrets of overpaying. And if you don't, it wasn't worth it to you, the auction is over, and you can move on to the next one.

You should not ask if you over paid. You took your money and were willing to pay what you thought it was worth to you. It is called a market.

You bid, you paid, it's all a done deal. Now go ride it like you got the most awesome deal in the history of cycling. You'll forget the initial price in no time.
