Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks Dr. Pete. Is it just me or is Bailey approaching the fame of R600DA ?

Bailey wants me to ask you, if he chases the cat across the house, can he say he was racing "cat-1" ?

Thank you, thank you--I'm here all week. Try the veal!

As to the R600DA comparison, I need to wait till I get home for the Photoshop wheels to start spinning...

I enjoyed the pic because it really captured the pain AND has the peloton looming in the background (yeah, we got caught a couple laps later. )
Nice pain shot. Dig the old Campy brakes on your pursuer's bike...

Cool - sounds good! Not sure where I'll be staying. I don't know anything about the area really. I was in Carlsbad last time and it seemed nice and fairly centrally located, but I wouldn't be tied down to a specific location really.

Here are a few from some typical rides around town (as I ride from one end to the other and back again):

I like this one (sorry for it being large). Its a sign up at a hospital that is at the top of the hill I do hill sprints on. I sometimes go there to sit on the benches to rest after doing several sprints. It is also the hotspot for expecting fathers/family members/workers to come out and smoke. BTW - I have been smoke free for 4 years now.

I've got a few.
This first one was taken on a ride on my new at the time Scott at around 1am, where I ventured about Brooklyn, and ended up in Mill Basin, only to find this house with an over the top Christmas decoration.

This one is my local training ground, Prospect Park, right in the heart of bustling Brooklyn.

These last two are from a local race cat 1,2,3,4 race, where I just started riding around following the racers and managed to get two nice shops, the latter, of which, is actually my current wallpaper.

Nice to see a big bike for a change.

Congrats on your cigarettes victory; I've been smokes free for 2 years after smoking for 42; one of the biggest accomplishments of my life.
