Carbon Fiber(with Ti Hardware) Kick-Stand?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Carbon Fiber(with Ti Hardware) Kick-Stand?

Seriously, my fixie is carbon and I don't need any steel pole to abrade the top tube while resting the bike.

Question: where do I get one? I don't need any jokes....just a straight answer if anyone knows.

Don't rest your CF bike against a pole that's moving up and down? Oh, and who leans their bike up against an object with the top tube, or any tube for that matter, being the sole point of contact? This entire thread confuses me...

God I would love to see someone put an old Greenfield kickstand on a CF bike and really tighten that sucker down. The sound of cracking carbon would just be music to my ears!

If you lay your bike carefully on the ground, it can't fall over.

Or a top tube protector for trackies when they crash; it stops the bars from denting the top tube.

Believe it or not, about a year a go I found acompany that actually made one. It was just like a standard kickstand, nothing special, but made of carbon.

For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the company.

ha ha. Thanks patriot. If they make CF condiment shakers and then a CF kick-stand seems reasonable to me.

Wouldn't be too hard to rig up a carbon fiber version of this using fibraplex carbon fiber tent poles.

Hello from Click-Stand,

I have made a carbon fiber Click-Stand (patent pending), though I used Easton's carbon fiber tubing. My biggest complaint was that Easton's tubing has sort of a medium gray finish. If it were a carbon w/clear-coat, I might have liked it better. The Fibraplex tubes use different inserts, so I haven't tried them. As well, there isn't anything that an aluminum Click-Stand won't hold up, and still weigh less than 70g, though I do dig carbon fiber!

Tom
