Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I met Floyd Landis tonight

Floyd returned home and had a small get together to raise money for his Fairness Fund. Like everyone says, Floyd is a real nice guy and he doesn't like a lot of attention. All that's gone on since the Tour and the resulting fund raising he's had to do can't be easy for him. He's definately not Lance Armstrong, cycling seems to be the only thing those two have in common.

So I got to meet him, got his signature and picture taken with him and talked alittle. I asked him where his favorite place was to do training rides and he said San Diego. Weather wise Lancaster County, PA can't compare.

You don't look funny, you look like a mass murderer! Still, great night, I'm sure you'll remember it for a long time.

Sorry about that, I put it on photobucket and edited the post. Didn't think I'd get many hits.

Cool. My question to Landis would be, "Assuming you finally win your cases, do you think you can come back physically to compete at the same level as when you won the TDF?"

He's probably always ready to go to court. When I met him in Solvang he was also wearing a suit but I think he was coming from a hearing that day.

I know Armstrong and Landis aren't the tightest of friends but LA could raise more money in one evening then Landis could raise in a month. I would be a good cause.

Maybe because he got a message from a certain Mr. Armstrong that told him that if Floyd wanted anyone to take him seriously, he needed to quit doing the Kid Rock routine.

....and Armstrong was right.

All he has to do is wear yellow and ride a Trek, then R600 will dial it up and drop him.
