Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, I can get one @ Performance for like $2600. Dura Ace shifters & derailleurs; FSA crank; Ultegra brakes; Ksyrium Elite wheels... I think it's a tremendous value, and they have my size!

I just picked up a 2007 NOS Fuji Team on New Year's Day with the extra 15% off. It was out the door for $1100 (plus the 10% Team Perf bonus). I switched out the 105 brifters for Dura Ace that I picked up for $255, and I've got hand built wheels to replace the Shimano R550s that it came with. It had the same spec as the 2008 for $200 less. I finished the parts changes last night, but it's snowing right now. I'm just getting back into road biking after a 10 year focus on mountain biking, and I've got great expectations for 2009.

Good deal!
My local Performance has a Women's Silhoutte model. I'm going to wait until nobody buys that little frame (44cm) and they mark it down like crazy. Parts are nice, carbon, sweet looking bike.

I bought a 2008 Fuji Roubaix Pro from Performance here in Austin for $930. Its my first road bike and so far I have put around 300 miles on it so far and my only complaint is the FSA Gossamer crank. The Frame is Aluminum with a carbon rear triangle.. Also I'm 6' 235lbs

I passed one on a hill climb today. I rarely pass anyone on hill climbs. Therefore they suck.

I bought the Roubaix RC, which is the same bike with slightly better wheels and shifters. It replaced a 20-yr-old bike so the technology is all new to me. Which is to say, I don't have anything to compare it to so I don't know what to complain about. What is your complaint about the crank?

I don't know about swaustex's complaint about the crank, but after switching my Gossamer out for a Shimano FC-R700 compact, I realized that the Gossamer was 'spongy' - the Shimano feels really stiff and responsive compare to my old FSA.

Rebadged?

Are you suggesting that Fuji doesn't even design their own bikes but buys them off the shelf from a supplier?

This would be incorrect.
