Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wind Briefs

Does anybody have any recommendations for wind briefs? I've been doing a lot of cool weather riding and even with shorts & tights my nethers are getting too cold for comfort (scary actually at times) and I'm looking at getting some wind briefs to go over my shorts and under my tights.

Performance has a good looking pair "Terramar Underwear Wind Brief" but I keep getting a product error, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of any other good brands or has had any experience with these.

Thanks

What kind of tights are ou wearing over your shorts? Light weight, or winter weight? Also, what brand of shorts are you wearing? I've never had any problems similar to yours.

From: Videogames ruined my life. Good thing i have 2 extra lives.

Bikes: Giant TCR2, Giant TCX, IRO BFSSFG SE, Salsa Casseroll, IRO Rob Roy.

REI has some marketed under their Novara brand i believe. However i normally *gasp* wear my regular briefs under my shorts/tights.

I have nashbar gel shorts (waiting for my LG team shorts to coem in) and a LG cool weather tights. I mean it was mid 40s sunny and ended up in the 50s by the end of my ride yesterday and riding directly into the 10mph wind was numbing, riding back with the wind i was fine so i think it is just an issue of the wind breaking through the material.

That doesn't sound very cold, or very windy. Maybe you're just one of those skinny guys with no natural insulation?

could be, i'm 6' 140lbs. I'd bring up my new seat, but if it was soley an issue of my san marco I would've had the same incling of feelings on my trainer or on the tail end of my ride going with the wind yesterday. So that leads me to believe I'm just sensative to wind contact

At the risk of getting laughed at, I'll tell you what I do. I stuff a kitchen hot pad in between my tights and my bibs.
