When to pump?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'll usually check the tire by pinching when I get home from work just to make sure it is not flat or has a slow leak, so i have time to fix it before I ride. Otherwise I need to pump em every couple of days to keep them up to pressure +-10psi @ 120psi is good enough for me.

Just part of the routine to pop the pump on and check before each ride. If I didn't do it that way I would constantly be trying to remember when I checked last. If I am really running late I will go with a quick squeeze. I run 115 in the rear and 90 in the front and can tell the diff between those with the squeeze method.

My rear tube is much newer than the front and holds pressure better than my front does ... though the front probably has a patch on it, can't remember.

For commuting, I will top off my tires every 3-4 days...after than I start to notice the lower pressure. However, I pump my tires up for every "serious" ride.

When people say 'before every ride' just remember that means different things. As in, I ride 2 days a week (I run and swim at least 2x/week as well) so I for sure pump before every ride. If one rides every day, that is a lot more pumping.

Someone on page one said 'at least before every ride'. that is the least? I would hate to see what you recommend if that is the least. Like pull over every 30 minutes and check.
