Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Met up w/SirJoel on Wednesday afternoon and had a pleasant ride around White Rock. For those familiar with the area, we also had a nice tour of what I think are referred to as the "Three Sisters" (series of 3 hills) and had a good visit. It was a pleasant afternoon, and look forward to doing it again soon!

Riding at around 1:00 p.m., we nearly had the lake to ourselves!

I'm hoping to meet some forum members. I love to ride with others. I prefer not to ride alone coz it's kinda boring.

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun!

Apologies to the forum in advance if this should be done through PM; however, here goes. I typically ride with one or two others Sat. morning early in Denton (From I-35 @ 380 up, over and through the Krum, Bolivar? areas and back. Last Saturday we rode about 63 miles, finishing around 11:30 a.m. We've been increasing the distance as the weather has warmed. We once met at White Rock and rode out Hwy. 80 and up along the western portion of Lake Ray Hubbard; however, I'm not as familiar with this area. Sunday ride a short distance and picnic w/family and then ride one afternoon during the week, typically at White Rock, as it's convenient.

When I lived in TX, one of my dad's dearest biking buddies lived right on White Rock Lake. His name wasn't Joel, so it's not him, lol. Anyways, I've never ridden with other members partly because I'm decently new and also because I'm on the young young side as far as member age is concerned.
