Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Giro Helmet Replacement Policy??

Anyone know if there is any sort of Giro crash replacement policy within 1 yr of purchase? I went down today and really the only damage was than my 4 month old Atmos cracked. Someone in my group said that they thought Giro had a crash replacement for 12 months from purchase. I am really surprised that it cracked as the impact didn't seem that hard. Might turn out to be an expensive get off.

Anybody hear that before?

thanks

Like 40% off MSRP. One of the women I ride with just had a bad crash and had to use the replacemet policy.

Call the number on the website. They'll give you a replacement for 30% off a new one. Kinda not that much off, but it's better than nothing. Over the phone they'll just take a card and send you one instead of making you send it in, etc.

Good luck.

Got my Atmos helmet replaced by Giro after a crash I had about 5 weeks ago. Just give them a call and give helmet serial number. No need to send the helmet back. If I am not mistaken they replaced my helmet 30-40 % off retail price.

I think I paid 125.00 for my replacement. Keep the sn# handy cause they will ask for it.

To close this thread:

You guys nailed it. They offer 30% off of suggested retail, which is $122.50 on an 07 Atmos and includes shipping. Also if your LBS participates in the Giro crash warranty program, you can take 30% off any helmet they carry. The LBS gets a small credit from Giro as well.

Thanks again guys
