so i did a search... but searching for blue on a bike forum doesn't work that well...


anyways, after spending this week (yes, 5 days so far) without a bike becuase it is in the shop for the 5th time since I bought it (2 months ago)......I've really been thinking of getting a full refund for my Fuji Roubaix RC.


so I've been looking at different bikes, giant, trek, or another brand..


now I know a guy who has a Blue RC6... now this is a gorgeous bike.... full dura ace, and you can get a frameset now for 1495!

what are your thoughts of this bike?

some one make the same frames or very close under a diff. name and a lil cheaper in cost...I think it starts with a "L"

I would love to get the name of that bike... I know of a guy selling a blue rc6 for $2089 shipped...but it's a 57.5cm (EDIT: wait, it says fits like a 57-58, but it's actually a 55cm... are they fit small?) which may be a little small for 6'3" me...

This is a very agressive frame geography. The bike is "twitchy" and if long distance comfort is what you're after, look elsewhere. If you want a fast Crit Bike, You won't do better.

Blue's are very fast bikes. I have a RC5AL. Blue's intro bike and it is crazy fast. If you have the opportunity to test one go for it. What region are you in? My uncle is a rep for blue in PA, NY, NJ, and DE so let me know if you are anywhere near there.

I have a Blue RC4 in a 58cm (I'm 6'2 with a 34" inseam) and it fits great. I'm sure you'll enjoy it ...

I love my Blue. I ride the snot out of this thing. It's pretty comfy to me but it is a little twitchy. You get used to it really quick, though. Don't let these guys scare you off.. take it from people who actually OWN the bikes and ride them.

Oh yea.. some of the Leopard frames are the same supposedly but they arent cheaper.

Blue bikes are hott. All of them. They are definitely one fo the top brands in my WTB one day que for when I actually have money (and multiple bikes-- they are sooo pretty!).

Blue is also in Atlanta or right outside of it but you probably already know that.

Oh yea.. FYI the RC7 is not quite as twitchy as the RC6 but IMO the RC7 is not as hot as the RC6.

blue is the bomb. the rep i talked to said the RC4 and RC5AL are their two best handling frames, but that the RC5AL is actually the lighter of the two(if that sort of thing matters to you).
the geometry of these bikes is definitely aimed at racing, though, so if you're looking for something that will give you a more upright/relaxed riding position, it's probably not the best choice unless you like lots of steering spacers.

I agree about the racing geometry. In my search for a company I was told that Blue was VERY directed toward racing and is not designed for comfort at all. Beautiful bike but it wasn't good for my needs.

this is the second time something in the drive train has been replaced (thankfully warranty work)... and they still haven't called saying it is done yet.

but most of all, I just don't trust it... I feel like everytime I start to ride, something is going to crack, or crush, or come off... so I cannot do long rides, and I cannot stand up and crunch.

Sounds like a Shimano issue and not a Fuji issue. Could you be more specific? Drivetrain could be almost anything.

you are right. I is all problems with the drivetrain, so all shimano issues.

I'm just looking at other brands just for the heck of looking at other brands.

this time the freehub went out... last time it was a defective wheel... now the new wheels will not stay true (and I'm only about 175 )..

plus, not matter how much adjusting is done... the shifting is extremely rough, I always miss cogs, and the chain repeatedly jumped off.


I think we concluded in the last thread that it is the fault of a poor mechanic...and maybe the case of a lemon shimano group set.

Those Blue's are way hot. My LBS is going to start carrying them. I am thinking really hard about the RC5AL frame. Anyone know what the cost of that frame is, just wondering if the "deal" he stated is really a deal.

I'm starting to wonder also.

over a year ago, i was expecting to pay $600, but got out of there for $550. good enough deal for me, considering i had gone into my new frame search thinking i'd be spending at least $800.

I ride an RC5AL, and I love the way it handles; it's very nimble. Overall, it is a great value. Are you going to buy it from AVX Bikes, or Reality Bikes? I went with RB: the owner there (Todd) is easy to work with, and he really shows his passion for the sport.
