In the all-new Madone, Trek Bicycle has taken its quest for perfection to new levels. Charged with creating the world's finest all-day performance bike, an army of engineers, designers, physicists, chemists, carbon producers, bike shop owners, project managers and riders spent the past two years elevating the Madone from elite racing cycle to the consummate performance experience. The result of their efforts is an exquisitely balanced machine that delivers a transcendental riding experience.
The new Madone represents the largest design project Trek has undertaken on any bike, at any time. It was born from the expertise of seven consecutive Tour de France victories, more than 15 years of OCLV Carbon engineering experience and the input of Lance Armstrong and other world-class riders. The Madone underwent hours of FEA analysis, exhaustive real-world ride testing and 30 different lay-up schedules as engineers fine-tuned every detail of this ultimate riding machine.

The OCLV Carbon Line-up
OCLV Carbon is synonymous with unmatched ride quality. Long the Carbon market leader, Trek continues to outpace the competition with entirely new proprietary processes and patented fiber technology that combine to deliver an extraordinarily light and strong ride. The Madone is available in three different OCLV frames:
-- OCLV Red features the highest performing carbon fiber arranged according to the most complex lay-up schedules.
-- OCLV Black employs intermediate modulus carbon fiber and sophisticated lay-up schedules.
-- OCLV White uses predominantly standard modulus carbon fiber and delivers an outstanding value.
Pick your fit
In a radical departure from the conventional thinking -- that a performance-oriented bike demands an aggressive fit -- Madone offers a trio of fit options without sacrificing Pro-Tour proven geometry.
-- Pro Fit is the racer's choice and uses the same aggressive fit as the original Madone
-- Performance Fit features a 30mm taller head tube that provides a slightly higher hand position.
-- WSD Fit is designed specifically to address a woman's body structure without compromising performance.
Availability
The Madone will be available at independent bike retailers beginning June 4th, 2007 with prices ranging from $2,749 to $7,499.
- Details, of course, any time at www.trekbikes.com or your local Trek dealer!

Interesting that they won't pair their best frame with SRAM Force. I'm sure a company rhyming with Jimano had something to say about that.

The headbadge is very similar to early Trek, '76 to 80's. Maybe Fuji stole from Trek!

I am anti-Trek like many here. But to complain they stole everything from everyone else is a bit absurd. You could say Specialized stole from Wilier, and Wilier stole from Ridley etc..
They essentially all use Giant now to build their bikes, so what do you expect? The current trend is to have a swooping top-tube, semi-compact geometry, and ugly paint jobs. Thankfully, integrated seat-posts are being recognized for the crap they are.
Lemond is the classic example. Their bikes used to be awesome, with a distinct retro-paint job and graphic design. Now? They look like rebranded Giants with script designed by the secretary.
Thanks Giant. They are the most evil corporation in all of cycling.

Another lame Trek logo. Will they ever get something decent?

a lot of new stuff.. they have a built in sensor in the fork for the computer. A new wireless computer that includes HR, cadence and altimeter.
Also change the look of their wheels. The Race X Lite wheels now have a flange back on the front hub with red nipples.
Intergrated headsets!
And the new Shimano SL crankset has more a black theme....
one question remains, so is it official that they are NOT made in USA anymore?

They are still made in the USA. My 2007 Madone SL 5.5 order was canceled. It's now going to be a 2008 Madone 5.5 Pro, I'm just trying to get them to give me something other then yellow. (I agree with the post two above). But the bike is still being made in Wisconsin, 2 week lead time.

If this is the case, I have to give Trek credit.

Really, though... the styling cues are very similar...

Does it come with reflectors integrated into the rims too?
