Go at your own speed. When you're ready to jump into the deep end with both feet, you will have the perfect race machine!

I've made a couple of changes to mine recently, so I figured it was a good time to get an updated photo

You've really dived in to the sport.

i think I did too, and the wife isn’t too thrilled about it. Lol. Still need a few items like a computer, pedals, tube replacement kit (and learn how to do it), to name a few. I have a long way to go. Just did my first century last weekend. I think I did ok.

Good for you dude! You probably rode right past me, I live in Walnut Creek and rode both days that weekend. I am also super new to cycling, having purchased my 2020 Allez Elite, and 2019 Scott Metrix 10 both new in April. Building a 2019 Cervelo R3, with the new frameset being delivered today! The addiction is real lol!

thanks. I did my ride on Saturday. Left Livermore 11am, turnaround point was just past carquinez bridge. Got home around 5:30pm. I’ll have to look out for your 3 bikes next time I ride Iron Horse. I chatted with someone at the downtown Danville stop light, but he rode a Willier. I agree, the addiction is real. I’m trying to offload my Giant to a friend so I can buy a better older bike like a 2013-14 S5 or Dogma F8. Good for you that you’re hands on with your bikes. Anything beyond the use of Allen wrenches, I probably won’t go near there anytime soon. Good luck with your build; post some pics when you’re done.

Here is the ride I did Saturday. I am working up to the half century ride, which I will try to do this week.

Great job! I'm still working toward the 25 mile mark. Sometimes, I feel like I'll never get there.

It is amazing, for at least the first 10 miles, maybe more, I question myself and feel like I should just go home and park the bike lol. Then I hit a stride where my body starts feeling great and I feel like I can go forever. Cardio was never, and is still not my strong suit but so far, the limiting factor on how far I ride, has been my imagination on where to go. That and the fact that I really don't like the idea of riding on streets, which is a real problem when trying to do a long ride.

For me, it's the first 2-5 miles I feel like giving up. I live on top of hills on one side and fairly level plains on the other, so I get a lot of wind. I can deal with all that, but when by myself, I tend to cut short. If I have someone with me, I can push through. I just need to stop being tender.

i say skip the half century and go an extra 12 more miles for a 100km ride (and complete the Strava challenge). The fatigue will help you not notice the difference :). So I hopped onto the contra costa canal trail from iron, exited onto Grayson then onto pleasant hill rd which turned into Alhambra and went to Martinez. There is nice scenic path from there, to carquinez bridge. A little hilly but I survived off my lowest (52t/25t gear). It’s great for photos and has several benches you can use for breaks. I highly recommend it. Or you can go south, down to stoneridge, then there is a road that goes parallel to 580 which leads you to castro valley. Either one should get you 50+ miles. Good luck with whatever you choose. Hit me up on strava if you’d like. Search “Erik Antonio”. See ya

InvertedMP How have you attached the Varia to your bike? The straps look thicker and of better quality than what I'm using. Thank you.

That might be shadows, the rubber o-ring thing is fairly thin. I would love to get a better solution for mounting.

Another new Cervelo owner here. Got great deal on Brand new 18 Cervelo R3 UDi2 then swap out stem and handle bar, also got new Bora WTO wheelset. So far enjoying it very much.
It seems there are lots of Cervelo deals around.

I love that you picked this colorway because it's the exact one I was looking at as well. How does it sparkle? Is it nice?
Any guess as to what the weight is on the stock bike?
It's probably #3 on my list right now of choices as I am actively searching for a new bike since I sold my previous frame.

That looks great, love the tan walls.

'18 Domane SL 5. I didn't care for the Domane very much when this frame came out. Fast forward to now, I think it gorgeous. 58cm frame w/ Williams 58's. Wheels are from my Felt IA I recently sold, they look better on here.
