Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes, the biggest problem is having to slow down constantly to thank people who wont stop complimenting you on how good it looks.

I was really leaning towards it as my mest bike...I think it's awesome..they sold a few at my LBS and got great reports back from the owners....but for some reason, now I'm leaning towards a Roubaix.

Thanks. I'm hoping to see one on in person that I can try out. But it doesn't seem to be a bike they carry in many places here in Miami.

I have one and I love it! The stock wheels are pretty heavy and I replaced them immediately, other than that it's fantastic. Handles well, good balance of drivetrain stiffness to general comfort. Quite a good deal too considering that they sold the frameset alone for $1500+ two years or so ago...

Orange rocks! I prefer the orange on the Onix to the shade on my Orca. Mine is sort of a Dreamsicle Orange.

Hey, that's my bike! I also have a Onix TDF and am very happy with it. Note that with the TDF, you do get a slight upgrade in wheels (equipes vs. aksiums), and slightly less weight. Plus the blue/black is much better looking than the orange.

I admit I am concerned by the thread reporting an Orbea (sounds like it was an Opal) breaking in half, but I am hoping that it is an isolated incident

I love my Onix. I've only had it a little while but it's super smooth and climbs like a bastard. I actually look forward to hills now!

i've got one. It's nice but I wish it was stiffer. If you plan to race you may want to check out the Opal.

This is sillyness. The power of the Orange can only be appreciated in person. Blue/black blends into the pack of generic frames that flood your local scene.

Stand out from the crowd. Black/Orange is the way to go.

Velocity,

Try Big Wheel in Hollywood on Taft. They have a bunch of Orbeas in the shop right now. I just bought my Scott from them. I know they have Opals and Orca's. I don't recall if they have the Onix, give them a call. The paint jobs on these bikes are awesome, I was looking at the Opal in blue but they had a 2006 CR1 Pro with the neked carbon fiber weave which I just love.

Cats' bananas are orange? Yellow bananas aren't good enough for cats now?

If it's anything like my Orca, it's going to be amazing.

And yes to Orange!
