I knew I shoulda created a sockpuppet for this thread. As an added bonus, it would have gotten me banned and provided fodder for a DON'T FREE CHIPCOM thread.

You can joke about a lot of things, chip, but cadence is serious business.

So cadence is your sister? :p

Okay, I know I pedal 15 revolutions in 10 seconds, but I can't seem to remember how to determine my cadence.

Serious hat on...cadence is revolutions per minute, so take your 15 revs per 10 seconds and multiply that by 6 and you get 90 RPM as your cadence...serious hat off

Thanks, I probably should have known this since I was a math major for 2 semesters, before switching to automotive engineering for 2 semesters, before getting a criminal justice degree, but I had a long day adjusting property damage claims and just blanked out.

ElJamoquio 06-20-07 04:04 PM

multiply by two, because there's two wheels...

ElJamoquio 06-20-07 04:05 PM

divided by (28 front spokes + 32 rear spokes)...

That equation looks so familiar!!!! it's killing that I can't remember what it is! Conservation of momentum?

ElJamoquio 06-20-07 04:57 PM

15 x 3/5 = 90rpm

I think we're going to need to use a Taylor-series expansion.
