C'dale Super Six
has anyone had a chance to ride the new super six? my best guess is a system six with a full carbon fiber rear triangle. carbon fiber seems to be the future in bicycle racing. the super six seems to be a synapse with a heavy duty headset. and yes i recall that the synapse was one of the stiffest carbon frames made!

no....the carbon synapse (at least my 2006 model) is a Taiwan made frame. Not sure if the newer ones are US made though. The geometry of the SuperSix is the same as the six13/system6/CAAD frames and the synapse is 0.5 to 1 cm longer in wheelbase, chainstay length and headtube length. Very similar, but with a noticable difference in handling. the synapse isn't a razor sharp handler like the others.

You sure it was Taiwan and not China? I got a carbon Synapse in the middle of 2006, just before they were transitioning to the 2007 models, but I have a hunch mine is actually an NOS 2005 model..and it very definitely (though not at all conspicuously) says "Made In China" on the frame and the fork.
(I am of course disregarding the complaints from any mainland Chinese folks who will insist that Taiwan *is* China.)

I just got an '06 Synapse 4 with the "handmade in the USA" on the frame. It is a late 06 if that matters?

we had one in the shop the other day. i didn't really get to ride it, as it was much too large for me. those who did ride it (one who owned a system 6 for a few months, one who has ridden just about every frame cannondale has ever made, and another who owned a six13), all said it was incredible. stiffer than the system at the BB, but smoother riding. i ride a 48cm, and i think i will stick with my six13, it's plenty of bike for me, thankyou.

The 2007 carbon Synapse is the first to be made in the US. That makes it so that every Cannondale *frame* is now made in the US.
