Hello. If a fork is modern and made in Italy and threaded, is the threading most likely Italian? I'm speaking of a Coppi fork. thank you.

I haven't heard the words "modern" and "threaded" used together to describe a fork in quite some time... That said, I've never heard the term "Italian threaded" applied to a fork either.

Typically Italian forks and frames have threads that are Italian (different thread angle) however, that is not always the case. Related to the headset, you can use a British ISO thread on an Italian thread or vise verse, just as long as you don't swap back and forth, you'll be OK.

My Colnago has an Italian threaded fork, however I'm using a British threaded Campagnolo C Record Head Set.

Where the system will not be interchangeable is in the Bottom brackets due to cup size and thread direction.

yeah, my 2005 bianchi brava came with threaded fork/headset, i was surprised also but i'm happy about it. i prefer it that way. kevinf, you have heard of italian threading, right? ViperZ, thank you, thats good news ... that will be basically the same as my set up. peace!

I have heard of Italian threading; I've just only ever heard that term applied to bottom brackets. I just never heard of an Italian threaded fork before.

FWIW, there's no such thing, as far as I'm aware, of an Italian-threaded fork in current production. There IS an Italian threaded bottom bracket, of course, plus a FRENCH-threaded fork. Most any threaded headset will fit your Italian fork, other than a French-threaded headset or other freakiness. I have an 81 Pogliaghi and a 96 Cinelli Supercorsa, and have had no problems.

The inside diameter of the crown race also differs with 0.05mm.
