Question about integrated stem.

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Question about integrated stem.

Here's my bike. A Giant ocr c3.

Me and another bfer were sitting around yesterday, and I said... hmmm I wonder if I can put a King headset on there. He said he thinks I have an integrated stem and that that I probably can't put a king on there. Me, owning 3 mtbs are not sure what exactly and integrated stem is, well the mechanics of it, I'm sure it's simple, but I've never owned a bike with one.

Is there a way for me to put a king on this bike? Is there a conversion kit or something?

Right at the headtube area, it looks wider than 1 1/8.

You definitely CAN'T put a Chris King headset on that bike.

He/They don't believe in integrated headsets, which is what that frame requires. You're SOL.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Alright. I guess that's all I needed to know.

I wanted to do a multi colored king headset in my effort to make my bike not match as much as possible. Now I gotta figure out a way to add some color to the headset area.

That said, it's the headset that's integrated, not the stem. You could swap that stem to a bike with a traditional headset if you liked.
