Anyone analyze their Powertap data using Excel?

Since Powertap data files are .csv (comma-separated value) files, it seems analyzing your data using a program such as Excel would be a snap if you normally use Excel. Have any of you guys done this?

A quick google search led me to this this, indicating it can certainly be done.

Never used Excel to analyze powertap data but have imported a variety of files containing similar data (mostly for Neuroscience research) and once you get the hang of it you should have no problems.

Hm. I had never considered it before.

But now that I know it's possible...I still probably won't. I'm satisfied with what I get from TrainingPeaks.com.

Eaxctly, what can you do that's meaningful that you don't get from CyclingPeaks?

I model the training impulse and do a way better job.

I don't have cyclingpeaks and probably won't get it for a while, and the PowerAgent software supplied with the PT is extremely limited in how you can look at the data. Therefore, if performing your own analysis is possible for free, why not?

I use Excel. I put in Normalized Power, etcetera, etcetera. Blah blah blah. It works, and I see no need for paying for a program that is almost certainly less flexible.
