What do you think of this?
I'm a mountain biker looking to get into road cycling. i dont want to spend much though. I found a 2004 Specialized Allez Comp Cr-Mo Double for $200. it's fully stock except for new tires and an fsa carbon crankset. here are the specs:
FRAME Columbus FOCO, fully butted, air hardened

HEADSET 1 1/8" , triple sealed stainless cartridge bearings
STEM Specialized Pro, 3D forged alloy, 31.8mm bar clamp, 4- position adjustable
HANDLEBARS Specialized Pro, racing drop, 31.8mm diameter
TAPE / GRIPS Body Geometry, thin Bar Phat, black cork ribbon

CHAIN Shimano HG 73
CRANKSET Shimano Ultegra, Hollowtech arms
CHAINRINGS 53Ax39A
BOTTOM BRACKET Shimano Ultegra, Octalink spline, 68mm shell, 109.5mm spindle
PEDALS Composite body, Cr-Mo axle
RIMS Shimano WH-R540, 700c, alloy double wall
FRONT HUB Shimano WH-R540, 16 hole, sealed bearing, black
REAR HUB Shimano WH-R540, 16 hole, sealed bearing freehub, black
SPOKES Shimano bladed stainless steel, alloy nipples
FRONT TIRE Specialized Mondo Pro SL, 700 x 23c, 120TPI, aramid bead
REAR TIRE Specialized Mondo Pro SL, 700 x 23c, 120TPI, aramid bead
TUBES Specialized Turbo Ultra Light, presta valve
SADDLE Specialized Body Geometry Pro, leather, with tubular Cr-Mo rails
SEAT POST Specialized Pavé, advanced composite, 27.2x350mm
SEAT BINDER Integrated seat collar, w/ Cr-Mo binder bolt
NOTES Chain stay protector, reflectors, clear coat, owners manual
is this a good deal? or should i save up a little more and get something new like a trek 1000?

We're talking used here, right?
It's still a good deal at 200 if nothing's wrong with it. look the wheels over. I know somebody that broke spokes on that wheel repeatedly and they're no longer manufactured by Shimano.

$200 would be a steal if new.
Used on the other hand would be subjective to the condition.
Where, may I ask did you find it?

Grab it! I have one I alternate with my Spectrum. They are pretty decent bikes, selling originally for $1800-2000. I picked one up and got a deal at $1000 a couple of years ago..

200 is a steal even used... assuming it's not badly damaged. it would be plain bananas if new.
Make sure the frame isn't wrecked, the components are in good working order (a little grime or catchiness in the action is to be expected, but make sure it works), and the wheels aren't destroyed... then go for it.
