Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How can I do it and hide it from my wife?

I haven't shaved my legs for cycling in many years. My hairy legs are one of the only things left that my wife finds attractive about me. I find myself wanting to shave again. I sit up at night and try to figure out where my old trimmers are, and debate whether or not I would use her shave gel or mine, etc...

So how can I do it and keep the fact that I shaved hidden from my wife?

You can't. I'm in the same boat. Don't mess with your wife on this one.

Shave hair and keep it. Glue hair to some beige stockings. Wear hair stockings around wife.

Jeez...just friggin' do it.

Does your wife ask your permission before getting a new hair style? My wife (GF at the time) didn't want me to...but I did it anyway, and she ultimately got used to it (recently admitting she likes them better shaved than when I go hairy the months of Dec/Jan).

+1 to Botto's guide...'cept Step 4 IMHO...my sensitive skin cannot stand any sort of lotion/aftershave on my legs. I opt for Cetaphil.

Hm...

Just do it. Say something like, "I wanted to try it and I did, and if you hate it, I'll let it grow back." Then buy her flowers and take her out to dinner.

Be open, be free. It's only hair, and if she doesn't get used to the new clean look, it will grow back to it's full glory in a month or so (depending on your level of Wookie-ness).

But don't try and hide that you shaved your legs. Because she'll find out. She'll know before she finds out. And you'll look like a weenie. Don't be a weenie. Be a man. Shave your legs.

Just tell her the truth.....if she loves you she will understand. If not, you're single and you can do it anyway.

I'm fairly new to biking and I have to ask. Do most riders really shave their legs? I mean, I know swimmers do but I imagine water resistance is a lot more pronounced than air.

Just tell her you got a horrid infestation of crabs up and down your legs; and the best way to get rid of them is to shave all the hair off. She will then love you even more for taking care of yourself.

it's not for air resistance so much as for massage and to make it easier to clean the gravel out of your wounds when you crash.

who am i kidding, it's all about the aesthetics. it shows off your muscles better
