Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best Time of the Year

It's warm out. I'm racing well, the team is doing great, and I've got a new scoot.

But most of all I turn on the TV at night and watch the greatest race in the world.

Moan all you want about Versus coverage, or that you don't like Bob Roll, or that it's pro wrestling or whatever. Watching Robbie do his thing in stage one, watching Boonen as happy as he could be at his teammate's victory yesterday (the kid is nothing but class), watching the chess game, pure horsepower, and final moments of today's stage...if you love the bike there's not much better, other than crossing the line yourself with fists raised.

Long live the Tour.
