Do roadies do this?

Put on protectors for the chain stays? I'm just wondering if it's politically correct to protect the chain stay on a roadie. :)

I'm still going to put one on. Just curious what most roadies do.

I use a clear vinyl static cling. Like the stuff you put stink on the inside your windshield.

Are those like condoms? Will it keep my bike from getting an STD?

damocles1 07-23-07 03:21 PM

Of course! Do you think we want chain slap dicking up a $2500+ frame?

Pheard 07-23-07 03:22 PM

I bought purple and orange electrical tape for my chainstay. :o

Kekekekkeke.

gurana 07-23-07 08:17 PM

mine came with something on the chain stays... i dont' really get it and wouldn't have thought to put something there on my own. I'd guess it's more unnecessary than anti-OCP... actually, I suppose being unnecessary makes it a better candidate for OCP status ;p

mrbubbles 07-23-07 08:23 PM

Yes, you can even get it in carbon.

That looks like a carbon spanking stick.

I got lazy and bought a lizard skin to go with my new bike.

Electrical tape works well actually.

Naw, ...you'll be good. I would'nt worry too much about an OCP officer having a problem with that!

........but then again, you never know.

Mine came with some clear tape/protective layer on the driveside chainstay. It still looks great after a 1 1/2 years.

On 2 of my bikes, they are Au Natural, as in None :D

On my steel Commuter, Yes, there is a clear protector

On my Aluminum MTB, No, for it has elevated stays.
