Yet another wheel help thread
I've been wanting to pick up a new wheelset for a while now, and think I might do it when my next paycheck comes in. I am currently running the Mavic Aksium's that came with my bike. I am looking to spend under $1000, with $800 being an ideal price. I have been trying to do more climbing lately on really poorly paved roads, so low weight and "bombproof" are a must. I personally weigh around 190, so strength is especially important.
I was looking at Easton Orion II's based on good reviews, especially for the quality of the hubs. However, I discovered tonight that I can pick up a pair of new 2007 Ksyrium ES's on ebay for about $850. Mavic's would be nice since all the LBS's carry them and could service them if need be.
What other wheelsets should I be looking into? I know some Rolf's are in my price range, but frankly the low spoke count would leave me to afraid to push them hard no matter what their claimed max weight is. Also, any personal experience with the wheels mentioned or any that I may be interested in would be greatly appreciated.

Would it be better to save my money and pick up some Ksyrium SL's instead? They are only a few grams heavier, and probably $200 cheaper. The downside is that they look pretty ugly, especially in comparison to the ES's...

Neuvations with ceramic bearings.

You can get some good light wheels or even carbon wheels for that price if you wish.

How does those hold up?
It looks like the comparable wheelset from them would be the R28. The SL3 looks like it would probably be the better deal as well, lower weight and lower price with the only difference being that the spokes aren't bladed.
Also, how hard is it to install the ceramic bearings? Would I really notice the difference in performance?

If you want lightweight and bombproof, Ksyriums are neither. Go for something like this:

You can beef up the rims a bit and still have featherweight wheels.
