Did I get a good deal
I bought the following bike here in Austria for what I thought was a very good deal, but then it turned out it was a special edition bike (Hervis) that it is not listed anywhere else, so I'm a bit unsure.
I am however quite satisfied with it.
Fuji Roubaix Pro LE
Fuji Altair 2 custom butted 7000 series aluminum with PowerDiamond down tube
carbon seat stays
FC 990 fork (their cheapest carbon fork I think)
Full Ultegra 20 speed compact (50x34, 12-27) brakes, flight-deck shifters, the crank just says Shimano, but not Ultegra (?)
Crane Creek A46ACX head
Mavic Aksium Race wheels (aero spokes)
Fuji seat post (very light) and stem
Selle San Marco Ponza saddle
weight about 18.5 pounds
Total price without tax 790 Euros or about 1040 US dollars.
I exchanged the stem for a 35 degree riser and put on my comfy B17 saddle, both of which made a huge difference in riding comfort.
Although I haven't ridden a road bike in a few years, I used to put in about 1200 miles per summer on my Casati SLX steel bike. I find this bike to be very responsive. I feel like all of my energy is going into forward motion whether I'm climbing or accelerating out of the saddle.
It's not forgiving when going over big bumps in the road, but I wasn't expecting it to be.
All in all I'm very happy and can't wait to go out and ride, which is what it's all about don't you think?
