What happened with Millar's exploding rear wheel?

What happened with Millar's exploding rear wheel?
Any details on what exactly happened to Millar's rear wheel during the TT? One failure is bad enough, but two seems very strange. You have to love it when the pros throw their bikes as long as they don't pull a Dave Kingman.

- yep, i was interested in this too... the voiceover (Sherligget or Ligsherwin, whatever) promised a chat w/Millar apres the TT, but i guess Ventura couldn't run over there fast enough, or the team didn't want to talk about it...
- what brand wheel?
(i initially thought it was chain-snap, but i guess the entire rim separated?)

David Millar said during his interview that it was MAVIC and that his MAVIC wheel came apart because he was riding a MAVIC wheel. He was beng crystal clear that who manufactured that wheel and how unhappy he was with it. I was watching it on Versus so the interview coverage may have been different for some people.

Saunier Duval team road the Scott Addict, Mavic [Ksyrium, Aerolite & Cosmic] wheels, Hutchinson Tires, SRAM Force and Ritchey WCS components. Mavic issue specifically or not [btw…what happened with the second bike immediately provided and then discarded by Millar at the start of that TT?] I would hate to be associated with that build if I found myself over in Great Britain

From what I remember of the coverage I believe the second bike basically had a loose skewer and Millar pulled it over to the rub on the non-driveside chainstay.
I remember when Phil and Paul were saying it was his chain and I was like...."uh...no it looks like his rim un-bonded from the disk. Dang...that's going to light up BF with some carbon hating...." guess it didn't.
I thought I could see his chain disintigrating. Maybe it was just pieces from the wheel, but it looked like chain as well.

Wow, I've seen those wheels under some serious powerhouse sprinters (Theo Bos, Australian National Track Team) and never seen anything like this, but then again, the track version of the Comete is a little bit beefier.
I think Millar would prefer Zipps right about now.
