Why are racer riders such jersk?
Why are racer riders such jerks.
Every time I ride with them, they decide to lose us by speeding up to a ridiculously fast pace, especially up hills. What, are we not good enough for them?
And secondly, whenever we ride in a group, they seemingly try to either cause a collision by braking extra hard, as if telling us not to tailgate in a pace-line or will swerve in an attempt to knock us over. And they especially love not to inform us of upcoming turns in order to try to cut us off and knock us over. They even bring special sport drinks to aid them in this quest and expectorate all over us when they incite battle.
Can someone please explain how this happens?

i dont know about the second half of your quote... sounds like trolling or fabrication/elaboration to make racers seem more *******-ish than they are.
however, the first half of quote does happen quite often. usually bike racers spend ALOT of time on their bikes and are enormously proficient with bike handling skills. when you've a pace line of 5 or 6 racers- they click along like rowing team. everyone is working together... probably at levels you arnt even aware of.
then you throw into that mix someone that might not be razor-precision sharp... warbles a bit when the speeds go up... runs 6" wide in a fast corner... cant take a drink without looking down at the cage... or even stupid stuff- like *****hair poking out of a mis-sized pair of shorts-
and a high tolerance machine starts to become imbalanced. and we dont have time/energy for that.
we'd rather speed up- drop you and get back to the ride we were enjoying so much before you showed up.
(now, right there... was that *****hole-ish enough for you?)

Apparently you guys are very selective about the threads you read and respond to, this was a direct attempt at sarcasm, with regard to VT Bikers earlier thread about recreational riders. Even the title is mis-spelled the same way!
Either way, many of the guys I regularly ride with are racer types and I have no problem with them or them with me. Only ones I ever have an issue with are noob racers that just because the have a racing license think they are god's gift to bike handling. You know who I am talking about, the ones that accelerate when they are just supposed to be pulling through a paceline, or the ones that pull out wide left to cut a right hand turn in close, cutting off any rider behind them. They usually make excuses for their actions and try to blame the rider behind them.
Trolling is an art, I am just trying to perfect it!
