Back in the saddle again!
After a month and a half, I have been given permission to get back on the bike again after being off with a bulging disk in my back. Doc says no surgery needed for now!
Rode 10.5 miles of my work lunch time course at an easy 14.5mph average. Back felt OK following the ride, but I can definitely tell I'm out of shape.
Anyone else riding with a bulging disk or post back op?

Buddy of mine just had an operation to take care of a herniated disc, the doc found two when he got him opened up. He's supposed to be 8 weeks off the bike. He's 6 weeks into recovery and is already going against docs orders by doing short 10 minute rides on his wife's upright hybrid. He's thinking he'll be trained up enough to do the California Coast Classic, a 7-day 585 mile trek from SF to LA in September.

moving target
slightly unrelated but close.
I am on my road bike today for the first time after two months off, after suffering from memory loss and coordination loss from several seizures and swelling of the brain. I still have a small issue with retaining information when stressed. and since i am a little high strung I am almost always stressed.
luckily you really cant forget how to ride a bike, but you can forget how sti shifting works when you need to shift on the fly. all in all i had a great time. I did maybe two miles of solid climbing and got home in dry heaves. but it was worth it.
