Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fuji Absolute Sx

Is there something wrong with these bikes?? My mountain bike(DB Response) was stolen. So in market for a new bike. I decided I was using it more to go to work, gym, etc.. less then 4 miles one way. So decided to look at the cummuter, more upright style bike. The road bikes with their aggressive leaning over style kinda scares me, LOL.

I've looked at the Trek 7.2, 7.3 and the Fuji Absolute SX . It would seem the Fuji components are way superior to the Trek's. But I can not find out much info, good or bad about this bike.

I said the road bike style scares, but I also still want some speed. Found out on the mountain bike I fought the front shocks a lot when I really wanted to get moving.

So any opinions?? btw the Fuji is on sale for $799.. $300 off... Thx

Bikes: 2009 Trek Madone WSD, 2005 Independent Fabrication Crown Jewel SE, 2007 Fuji Absolute SX flat-bar roadie, 2005 Dahon Boardwalk 7 folder, 2009 GT Avalanche MTB, 1996 Trek 920 (beater bike) and last but certainly not least 1974 Schwinn Paramount

I have one I use for commuting, 16 miles each way. I got it about a month ago. I really like it. The shifting has needed quite a bit of adjustment and I've had some issues with my front hub squeaking. Just today it developed a creak that sounds like its coming from the bottom bracket. Hopefully all these things are just part of the breaking in period and once everything gets tightened up and adjusted it will be a reliable commuter.
