Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not as bad as being stung on the inside of my mouth, but it's right up there.

If I was I'd be dead. I get stung a lot when I ride on the local MUP. Long sections have 5'+ flowering shrubbery along both sides and, when it's hot, I ride with my jersey unzipped. It sweeps up anything flying in my path and I get stung/bitten on the belly and the back. I was stung once on my last ride and twice on the ride before that. IT SUCKS.

Don't ride on the MUP?

It seems the scenery is enjoying you more than you're enjoying the scenery.

Stands to reason -- I'll bet denim is no problem for them either. Many animals have pretty tough hides. The sting has to be able to get through to have any effect.
