How would I go about painting my bicycle with this particular Design?
I wanted to paint my road bicycle in a specific design and I was wondering how I would go about doing that. The design is as follows:
The entire bike would be painted black, while the frame itself would have skulls (That would look like this https://profile.imeem.com/RsIXIC/phot...dw/QqCHoDJyS0/ ) placed everywhere on the frame in white.
My first question is what type of paint should I use? Powder coat professionally or rent a spray gun from home depot and lacquer it up?
My second question is how would I be able to get the skulls onto the bike? I would like all the skulls to be uniform in size so masking taping skulls everywhere would be hard to do. Should I get personal decals made? Make a stamp which cuts out the skulls from tape? Stencil them in?
Thanks for all your contributions!!!! I’m really excited to get this paint job done!
P.S My fork is carbon fiber would I need a different process to paint that too?

1. You can make your own decals using water transfer decal paper. This is easy to do. I highly recommend the laser paper printer paper instead of the paper for inkjet printers. The decals will be nearly perfect.
2. If you want it all black (simple), you can paint it yourself with canned spray paint, but it takes time and you must be patient. I've had very good success on numerous occasions with the Rustoleum spray cans you buy at a hardware store. The paint is very durable.
3. Strip the frame thoroughly with paint remover and fine sandpaper, then 2 primer coats+intermediate light sanding to remove imperfections, then 2-3 paint coats with intermediate sanding, then decals on the frame, then 2 clear coats on top. It should look exactly like you want it to.
The whole process takes several days because of the drying time between coats.
