Removing decal from carbon seatpost.
Is there a way to safely remove decals from a carbon fiber post? I am thinking of fine grit wet sanding. Any other suggestions?
I like the post but I can do without the colorful logos.
Thanks.

The best way to get decals off carbon is to chisel them out. Make sure the chisel isn't too sharp, and use a 22oz roofing hammer for your striker.

I used another cool trick to get the decals off a carbon frameset- a woodchipper.
I held the frame just inside the feeder housing, so the chipper blades just kissed the surface of the carbon. Worked great.
To make sure the frame didn't accidentially get pulled through the chipper, I handcuffed it to my wrist.

+1... just make sure you don't get any on your hands when you soak the post. Also, when you go to light it, just toss matches at it. It's safer than holding a lighter to it...

Acetone is going to ruin the clearcoat on the post. If it's under the clearcoat I'd leave it. Seems like a lot of nonsense on a seatpost. Especially when you coulda/shoulda bought a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ . Fill in the blank. I'll give you a hint: it's 2 grams lighter than the one you bought and looks better than any carbon post. No need to sand off the name.

The majority of posts in this thread were really useless.
Yes, light sanding with a ultra-high grit sandpaper to get to the paint, clear it off, then a coat of polyurethane to your preferred level of gloss or lack thereof. I wouldn't use any grit less than 600, but that's just me.
Good luck.

Black nail polish loses the fiber finish.
You could always paint the whole bike blue to match the decal.
