Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just got my Garmin from Geoman too!

Speed (large)
Distance | Average Spd.
Cadence | Time

I haven't set the second screen up yet...

I just took mine out up and down the street, I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but why does it measure distance in feet (I rode 43ft.) and not something like a decimal figure. Maybe I didn't ride long enough for it to register?

I'm not sure. Mostly the same info for current lap, but including clock time.

I do have trouble reading at times depending on angle of sun & shadows.I have backlight set to be on at all times. Longest ride 67 miles & still had half my bars left. My most pressing wish would be the ability to set 6 data fields & have each take 1/3 of the vertical space & 1/2 of the horizontal ( with the print size expanding accordingly). That would make it much easier to read & give me the essential info.

I'm also considering moving average speed to the 2nd screen only (which I rarely look at). The previous post about not always racing with yourself made a lot of sense. I don't know if I can make myself do it tho. In this same vein, I never use the actual function that allows you to race against yourself (I forget what its called); does anyone else use it?

Dan

Exactly. As you've probably found out by now, go a little further & it will change over to miles.

It does feet for a while and then it switches to decimals of a mile. You must have a really short street if 43 is up and down it!

Thanks! Yeah, it's only a block long but the Garmin only registered 43ft. of it. *shrugs*
