Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm seeing RED!!!!

Some of you may remember my "white out" bike from a couple of months ago:

Well, now I'm seeing red (no, not sram red) but a little of this:

mounted on this:

this for accent:

and perhaps...if I can justify in my own mind the cost:

and:

I'm not going with the red rims this time though...It'll be full campy including the rims. I learned my lesson last time when I was summarily scolded for NOT posting pictures when I started posting about my last build. Black will be the "color" for the seatpost and stem of course to fit in with the fork and decals. Anyone else who has "color themed" bikes, please feel free to chime in! Build pics will be posted at it's fruition! Cheers!

Beware- trying to "match" different shades of red may result in nauseating combinations.

Years ago, I think in New Mexico, there was a beer called "Tree Frog". They used to run an ad that said something along the lines of "Tree Frog beer, it doesn't taste the best, but that ain't the point, now is it?" Catch my drift?

Aw, you're going to pass up the chance to mount a pair of red fulcrum zero wheels? They're even a Campy offshoot, so you're sort of covered on that end.

You know, it's funny but I just can't get my brain around all the pre-built, multi-hundred dollar wheels that are out there now (like the fulcrums, etc...). I tried a pair of the XRP Pro's, and I guess they ride "ok", but I just tend to lean toward an nice set of hand-built wheels with box rims. This being the case, I built up a pair of Campy Omega Strada rims to a set of 9 speed Campy hubs, 32 hole, 3 cross of course I've got them hanging in the garage waiting for my new frame. It's always what I've ridden on, and maybe it's just me, but they just "ride better".

Careful you don't ride that bike in rival gang neighborhoods, the colors might trigger a bad reaction ... red is always sweet, keep us updated.

Got really excited and thought you had somehow got a hold of a SRAM RED goupo, what a disappointment.
