Very cool.

This place needed a good Cinelli thread.

sbxx1985 09-24-10 08:23 AM

Which one did you get?

tagaproject6 09-24-10 08:28 AM

The Xperience :D

I am trying to learn more about Cinellis, and it is fascinating. I have never really been interested in the history of a bicycle maker until I saw a Cinelli about a year ago. I do not see a lot of them around and it surprises me that they are not as popular as I thought they should be.

So how's the ride on those aluminum-framed Cinellis? A lot of people think that aluminum frames are usually bone jarring.

tagaproject6 09-24-10 08:43 AM

Most of my bikes have been aluminum frames and the most current one being an Allez. I don't find it bone jarring at all. However, I have heard that the Cinelli aluminum frames do have that characteristics due to its geometry. I won't know until I take it for a long ride. I'll find out soon enough.

Someone is offering me a Cinelli Axis handlebar. It's new old stock, I believe from 06-08. Does anyone know if this handlebar have the grooves for the STI and brake cables?

531Aussie 10-01-10 11:59 AM

This one has grooves.

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure from owners.

531Aussie 10-01-10 07:52 PM

Oh, sorry. In that case, I reckon it's thread-worthy :thumb:

I ordered the Axis from Ital-tecno. They have not responded to my e-mails...getting nervous:twitchy:

She's a beauty. The best part of riding a Cinelli is that there are so few of 'em out there on the road. Mine got a lot of looks for sure. It's waiting to be rebuilt as my winter / training bike as I swapped out the Campy for my Izoard XP.

Gorgeous Cinellis!!!

cerealkilla 09-06-12 03:08 PM

Cheers :) sure is a beautiful bike in every sense. Arrived this aft, have been setting it up, will complete the 'fit' tomorrow morning and post some updated pics!

Basically I've taken 40mm off the steerer and the seats up (in comparison to the pic above) by another 50mm. Bottles added, computer added, and hopefully the Selle Smootape will be here in the morn.

Overall, its a much nicer machine than my previous Specialized 2012 Roubaix Elite in every sense. Very please indeed :D

Raj.

This is my Supercorsa :) I built it with a mix of Campy 11 speed (Potenza derailleurs and Dia-Compe DT shifters, Athena aero brake levers and Potenza brakes and a Centaur UT crankset), Cinelli XA stem and Criterium bars, Ambrosio rims and Veloflex 25mm tubulars. Very soft ride!
