you're one smart newbie. If you start out with a decent ride, it will save you a lot of money and time later on trying to upgrade.
It's like marrying a hot wife and be happy with her while most people on this board start out with an ugly broad and later go through the headache of divorce. That said, upgrade to 08 record as soon as you can. Old campy is not on bar with modern Dura Ace or even 07 chorus.

I have pretty much that same frame (R3000) that I have FINALLY finished building (well almost) and look forward to starting riding soon. Same year, probably 2 bikes below the Team Rep. Also CAAD7. w00t!

Thanks for the comments everyone. Whenever I start a new sport I all ways like to get the best possible equipment so theres no excuses. Just out of curiosity, how much would fair market value for the bike be?
