Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Trainer Q

So I was cheap, and bought a wind trainer. Now the neighbors whine. Well not quite, but I ride it out in the garage, and am told by my wife she can hear it upstairs. My question is this:

Are the Mag/Liquid trainers that much quieter? I know there is some difference, but is it really all that much?

The difference is significant. I went from a mag trainer to a Kurt Kinetic Road trainer. Major difference -- and not only in the noise, but in the smoothness. Much superior trainer. Go to the store and try a few.

I had a windtrainer back in the 90s, sounded like a jet engine.

One of the turbines broke off at speed and spun around the room, destroying everything in its path.

I read the last line then looked over at your avatar and couldn't stop laughing.
