Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've been telling people that for 18 months - not that I was the first to notice. As classy looking as Dean Woods or Shane Kelly on the bike, which is a pretty big wrap IMO.

This is a HUGE wrap. Kel is the best pedaller on the fixed wheel ever.

Born to race a bike.

So is saying you've seen the next Danny Clark. Anyway, Kelly is still yet to beat classic1 head to head in a TT on the track, so fark him, the big useless bastid.

Some other stylish/classy pedallers I've seen in the flesh.

Gary Sutton. Bradley Wiggins. Laurent Gane.

But Woodsy and Kelly just looked magnificent, so does Howard.

Today was another 4am special. Classic1 didnt show up again. Typical.

105 clicks in and I get yet another punctured single. I'm furious. I can never get today back and I can never get those unfinished 65km back. I've been robbed.

Maybe I should pull my head in and just train on clinchers and carry a spare tube and repair kit? I've never got on very well with common sense...

Ok trackies who caused it? Was it the guy leading into the bend going about -4kmh causing everyone to move up OR was it caused by the guy with the white rear disc wheel who fails to move up and make room for the rider going around Mr -4kmh?

Please explain.

I'm interested in an explanation too. Was the guy with the white disc wheel supposed to give way to the guy coming up, or was the guy coming up in the wrong? Note that I know SFA about track and the rules and tactics pertaining to same.

My understanding is that you are required to give way to a rider moving up the track if they are overtaking a slower rider (always overtake on the right of a rider). So the clown with the disc wheel should have moved in unison with the rider below him as he moved up. I am probably wrong though.

But I still think Mr. -4kmh should of pulled right off the track so those behind him didnt have to make such a sudden shift up the track to avoid him. I mean if you have blown your doors off why not get as low as possible and stay out of the farken way?

Softcoq. You should have rode it on the rim.

But yes, you are a knobhead for training on singles all the time. I know you are a major crime figure and that drug dealing pays well, but even Pablo Escobar used to train on high pressures, only rolling the singles out for races or the occassional warm sunny day.

Nah, thats all crap. There is no requirement to move off your line. You can run the inside rider right up the back of the slow rider in front and box him in. Its perfectly legal. If they get implanted in the clacker of the rider in front thats tough, not your problem.

My guess is someone married her. It's a scientific fact that marriage causes an increase in weight of 14 kilos in women. Happens to the best of them.

Is this the voice of experience? Was the wedding night a fizzer? Bummer. You should have stuck to the fruit salad for dessert at the reception.

yeah, maybe

I sometimes even take a spare tyre taped to my Soloist's downtube

I wouldn't even race on singles coz I like riding the 7km to 10km to the course...if I ever race again...I think my last race was last Feb

Never saw any of those blokes live, except Gilmore. Only TV.

I'll add to your list. The ultimate IMO was Thurau, followed closely in no particular order by Anquetil, Roche, Moser, deVlaeminck.
