Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This slipped past me until just now. Too bad, because I am certainly a fan and was looking forward to his possible return to the pro peloton.

Thanks LowCel...sorry about the 'old news' then. I DID plug his name into the search first and it came back no matches found for some reason.

Oh well...
"BUG" you're right...an inspiration...almost made me want to go out and ride now...almost...18 degrees with wind to 30 mph. I'm inspired, but not THAT inspired!

No need to apologize, search isn't working correctly at the moment. Plus I'm sure that there are a lot of people outside of the racing forum that would be interested in the information. It is a shame that it had to happen this way but at least the team was concerned enough about his well being to go this route. It would be much worse if he would get into another bad crash and die from it.

He is a nice kid, I read his book and saw him in Greenville, SC at the USPRO. I hope he will find something cycling-related to do in the future.

The comeback idea was a brave thing, but probably not the best for him. There is a lot more to life.
