New bike & fixes all your meals? It better be a bathrobe and some jewelry(think 3 months salary) :)

Congratulations and Merry Christmas.

For some reason I'm having trouble with my pic's. I will mess with it again in the morning.

hos13 11-30-07 08:37 AM

OK here are some pic's of my new bike. It is a 56cm Mercier Serpens 20 speed. My wife said it took about 3 days to arrive, we live in north Texas and I think it shipped from Houston, regardless she got it pretty quick. It took about 30min from start to finish putting it together. I haven't made any adjustments on size and fit yet, probably mess with that this weekend. It does look much nicer in person then on the bd's website but, maybe because I have my new bike goggles on. It also came with a pair VP-R61 pedals, my wife doesn't remember ordering them so it was surprise. I don't know much about the pedals, I currently use eggbeaters but I may try them out. I don't know the actual weight of the bike, I know what BD's site list it at, but I don't have good scale to back that up. However it is very light coming from my 28+ diamondback. When I get out on the road this weekend I will let you all know how it rides. Oh my wife declined to have her picture posted on an internet forum, go figure.

My 5yr old son helped me put it together, he was as excited as I was and thinks it is a very nice bike, but told me he is still faster then me.

That is odd?

Mine stays home with the kids, and makes all my meals too.

Also, nice ride.

I don't know the statistics, but about 75% of the married women I know work full time. I frequently make lunchs and\or dinner for the family.

And congratulations on the new bike!

Huh. BECAUSE my wife stays home with the kids, I do the cooking.

genejockey 11-30-07 09:23 AM

Oh, yes - and that is a really nice bike, OP. If you give her a bathrobe, make sure it's got something nice in the pockets - jewelry, tickets to a nice vacation spot, etc.

LowCel 11-30-07 09:36 AM

Very nice looking bike, congratulations.

*side note - I edited your post so that the pictures didn't keep going across the screen into oblivion. Seems to work just a little better if you hit the enter button between pictures when posting. ;)

LowCel 11-30-07 09:37 AM

Oh shoot, just realized I get to be the first.

Flip it!!! :D

I'm going to try that, I couldn't flip my last stem. However I'm recovering a form a herniated disc so I have been riding in a more up right position. But I will flip it and try it out.

I'm just giving you a hard time, if you are comfortable leave it alone. No reason to risk hurting yourself.

I got 2 a few months after my birthday. I think it had to do with buying her a house.

vuduchyld 11-30-07 10:11 AM

I've been curious about that bike. Looks sharp!!! It's on my list of potential spring-time options.

Cool bike and what a great way to get it.

Give your sweety a collective hug and kiss from the group here, huh?

NoRacer 11-30-07 11:21 AM

[sorry... compulsion]

EDIT: Darn it! LowCel beat me to it.
