Shocked

I'm still in a stated of shock.

My wife told me to come home and that lunch was ready, she stays at home with our kids so she prepares lunch everyday for me. When I got home there was brand new Mercier Serpens box in my living room. I was blown away. I have been wanting a new bike forever but have put it off due to remodeling our house. I haven't had a new bike since I bought my 89 Haro Master, since then I have been riding my brothers hand me downs. I'm currently riding a 99 Diamondback Invert that is about 30lbs with sora components. I was content with my Diamondback but this is just awesome. I'm so pumped up, I can't wait to get off work and put it together.

Awesome!!! I wish.

I just got some unbelievable news at lunch time too. I got a very nice and unexpected bonus. Ahhh, the desires I have but we are on a plan to get out of debt and this will knock off at least a few months from our timeline. Oh, I don't want to wait for a bike, I want it now......

No at least I hope not. She would hit me in the head twice, once for my above typo and again for my remark.

She is great and I will surprise her with something, just not sure what it will be.

Man this afternoon is going by slow, I think I feel the flu coming on, may have to leave early.

blonduathlongrl 11-29-07 01:43 PM

Why'd you have to go and say that? Now I can't even be happy for you.

Go Packers.;)

Yep she makes all my meals.

rufvelo 11-29-07 07:13 PM

New bike & fixes all your meals? It better be a bathrobe and some jewelry(think 3 months salary) :)

George 11-29-07 07:42 PM

Congratulations and Merry Christmas.

hos13 11-29-07 10:31 PM

For some reason I'm having trouble with my pic's. I will mess with it again in the morning.

hos13 11-30-07 08:37 AM

OK here are some pic's of my new bike. It is a 56cm Mercier Serpens 20 speed. My wife said it took about 3 days to arrive, we live in north Texas and I think it shipped from Houston, regardless she got it pretty quick. It took about 30min from start to finish putting it together. I haven't made any adjustments on size and fit yet, probably mess with that this weekend. It does look much nicer in person then on the bd's website but, maybe because I have my new bike goggles on. It also came with a pair VP-R61 pedals, my wife doesn't remember ordering them so it was surprise. I don't know much about the pedals, I currently use eggbeaters but I may try them out. I don't know the actual weight of the bike, I know what BD's site list it at, but I don't have good scale to back that up. However it is very light coming from my 28+ diamondback. When I get out on the road this weekend I will let you all know how it rides. Oh my wife declined to have her picture posted on an internet forum, go figure.
