Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What's the name of the book on big climbs?

I think the author was on here promoting a few months ago but I can't find it in
my searches. The book listed like the top 100 climbs around the world or something
like that. It had info on the climb, things to see in the area, accommodations and
such what.

Any help would be great.

thanks
Shayne

There was a review of that book in the latest Velonews. I can't remember the name of it though.

[Edit: Maybe not the "latest" edition, but a recent edition.]

I bought it and its not bad. But it should be labled. The Guide to Climbing by bike for California, Colorado and New England.

The coverage of the Appalachain region of the country is a bit week.

Too many dry counties/areas in the Appalachains. Perhaps the author likes a good drink after a climb

+1. Literally half of the climbs are in CA.
